Clark Kent

I was so tired from last night, that when I got to Blue Pearl at 8:30 I bought coffee from their machine! The morning was pretty slow, I held a couple dogs while their catheters were placed. One dog was a little Chihuahua, who was so small that I was afraid I was going to break him. He had haematomas in his neck from the emergency vet he saw before us and you could feel his brain through his skull. As the vet tech put it, he just wasn't built for life. After that, Dr. Bleyaert examined a cat who had a wound on to the left of his butt, and discussed with he's owners what to do next. She flushed it and discovered that it was connected to his anus. Then she put him on antibiotics to get the infection to go away before surgery. Clark Kent's surgery took four hours. He had a lymph node removed from his abdomen and a tumor removed from his but. The tumor was the size of a golf ball and we sent it off for a biopsy. I left after his surgery at 6, which was a lot better then the ten and a half hour day I put in yesterday!
